Greetings!

Hi, I'm Laurie...Welcome to Water's Edge Creative. I'm excited about sharing my world with you, inspired by treasures found on the shores of Lake Michigan, beads and silver wire and bling, the written word, music, and nature.

Check out the Gallery page for my latest pieces, many of which are available for purchase in my Etsy Shop.  Check out the Archive page for lots of blog posts about my thoughts on life.

I'm often asked "Do you really find all that glass at the beach?"  Yes, I do.  Beach Glass is pieces of old bottles and whatnot that end up in the Lake, get washed and tumbled in the waves, sand and gravel for years, and end up with a beautifully worn frosted effect that is perfect for jewelry focal points.  Visit my Gallery to see where I find the glass.

I'm also often asked "So, do you make all these yourself?"  I do.  I've been playing with beads as long as I can remember.  Water's Edge Jewelry came to life around 20 years ago when I was in college, and I have made thousands of necklaces and other items, no two ever alike.  Each piece comes from my imagination.

The name "Water's Edge" is obviously a reference to Lake Michigan, but also the volatile, ever-changing nature of those places where water and land converge.  I hope to convey with this site that same kind of movement in the moment, always looking for new ways to express my creativity.
